This privacy statement describes the policies and practices of TEXAS LAW SHIELD (referred to herein as “TEXAS LAW SHIELD”), in collecting, using, and safeguarding the private information that may be obtained through use of TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s services and websites.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Notice

Our sites and services are intended for general audiences and are not targeted to persons under the age of 18. If you are under 18, please do not use our website. Texas Law Shield does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen or utilize plug-ins or ad networks that collect personal information through child-directed third party websites or online services. If Texas Law Shield learns that it has collected personal information from a child under 13, Texas Law Shield will take steps to promptly delete the information. Should this policy change, Texas Law Shield would comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, which requires us to notify and obtain consent from a parent or guardian before we collect, use and disclose the personal information of children who are under 13 years of age. Texas Law Shield does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

Information Collection

Personal information is collected from members only after obtaining consent, which is obtained when members are prompted for information when subscribing to the services, by using TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s website, or requesting further information. Personally-identifiable information is not collected when a user simply browses the website.

TEXAS LAW SHIELD may contact members about offers and opportunities from TEXAS LAW SHIELD, to provide educational and informational materials, to conduct surveys, and gather feedback. This privacy statement does not extend to any information that is beyond the control of TEXAS LAW SHIELD.


Enrolling in TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s subscription service may require a member to provide certain personal information and enter into a Legal Services Agreement. Nothing herein is intended to modify the terms in the Legal Services Agreement.

TEXAS LAW SHIELD may employ the use of cookies for measuring the success of advertising and affiliate network membership. Our partners may use cookies. TEXAS LAW SHIELD does not exercise any access or control of such cookies.

TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s websites use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”), to evaluate the use of the TEXAS LAW SHIELD site. Google Analytics places a third party cookie on your computer that is then used to compile reports of visitor traffic and internet usage. Google analytics does not have a database of individual profiles for each visitor and only collects aggregate data.

Log Files

TEXAS LAW SHIELD uses log files comprising of non-personally identifiable information to analyze trends, administer the site, track movements throughout the site, calculate the number of document and file downloads, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use.


Information provided to TEXAS LAW SHIELD will be protected by TEXAS LAW SHIELD and not sold or rented to any unrelated third parties without the express consent of the information provider, except that TEXAS LAW SHIELD may disclose data to its affiliates and business partners who have established similar privacy standards, when legally obligated to do so, or if disclosure is required to protect the rights over TEXAS LAW SHIELD, TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s members, or the users of TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s services.

TEXAS LAW SHIELD may also share aggregate demographic data that does not contain any personally identifiable information. Validation may be required to obtain your membership from TEXAS LAW SHIELD. This validation may require verifying your information with a third party as described in the TEXAS LAW SHIELD Privacy Statement. TEXAS LAW SHIELD may disclose the information provided to the extent necessary to obtain verification.

Forums, Bulletin Boards, Testimonials, Chat Rooms, and Surveys Personal information submitted through a forum, bulletin board, testimonial, or chat room operated by TEXAS LAW SHIELD may be collected, used, and read by third parties, including other users.

TEXAS LAW SHIELD is not responsible for any information submitted through these services. We occasionally request information from customers via surveys. Participation in these customer surveys is voluntary. Survey information is used to improve this web site and our services.


TEXAS LAW SHIELD protects information both online and off-line. The transmission of information, including any payment information, is encrypted and protected using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). Stored customer information is kept in a secure environment where access is restricted to employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example billing administration or the development team). Employees are required to use password-protected screen-savers and keep their computers up-to-date.

Choice / Opt Out

Members may occasionally receive information on products, services, and special deals from TEXAS LAW SHIELD or may receive informational newsletters. Members are given the opportunity to ‘opt-out’ of having information used for purposes not directly related to the TEXAS LAW SHIELD’s service at the point where the information is requested.

Members may also elect not to receive additional promotional communications using the opt-out link provided in each promotional email or by Customers may not opt-out of receiving service announcement updates as they contain important security information about the services.


TEXAS LAW SHIELD reserves the right to amend this privacy statement at any time. Any amendment will be made by posting the changes to the website. Members must check the website periodically to be aware of any changes to the privacy statement.
