To Texas Law Shield Members and Friends in Southeast Texas:

Watch Now
I hope you can join me when I emcee a special  "Surviving a Mass Shooting" event at the Redneck Country Club in Stafford on Aug. 30.

Texas Law Shield is partnering with the Houston A&M Club to introduce the vital survival concepts of "Run, Hide, and Fight" to a new audience, and, of course, Texas Law Shield Members are encouraged to attend.

Because this special event is being produced in partnership with the Houston A&M Club, we'll start at 5:30 p.m. with a happy hour and meet and greet with the Texas Law Shield team. Come grab a bite to eat, enjoy a cold iced tea or other beverage of your choice, and join us for some socializing before the program. (But do note that the Redneck Country Club is a 51% establishment, so you'll need to leave your carry gun in the car.)

Joining me will be Law Enforcement veteran Ron Walker, who will offer specific, proven, smart advice on what innocent bystanders can do if they are caught in these circumstances. I will then address the legal issues confronting survivors during the event, and what to do after. Among the topics we plan to cover are the following:

What Situational Awareness Is and How to Turn It On
Why Running Is the Smartest and Most Effective Strategy
If You Can't Run, Then Learn How to Hide Effectively
If You Can't Run or Hide, Learn How to Fight Effectively, Even if Unarmed
After, How to Interact Safely with Law Enforcement

The formal program is set to begin with Mr. Walker talking about mindset and tactics from 6:30 to 7:30, and an opportunity for Q&A. I will then review the legal issues from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., with an opportunity for Q&A.

Registration is $10 per person. Capacity is limited, so commit quickly to reserve a lawn chair. There will be koozies, shirts, Texas Law Shield mascot Mason the Bear bobbleheads, and books as giveaways. Also, I will be available to sign copies of  Texas Gun Law: Armed And Educated, which I co-authored, and maybe take a selfie or two.

Click here to register, or call  (877) 474-7184 (option 3) to register by phone.
